Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to anyone who visits mold-buster.com, signs up for early access, or orders a Mold Buster kit. By using our site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What Mold Buster is — and is not

Mold Buster provides consumer microbial testing kits for informational purposes. Our kits and app are designed to help you understand what may be growing in your home environment.

Mold Buster kits are not:

• Medical devices
• Certified laboratory tests for regulatory or legal purposes
• A substitute for professional mold inspection or remediation
• A substitute for medical advice or diagnosis

Results from Mold Buster kits should be treated as informational and used as a starting point, not a final determination. If you have health concerns related to mold or microbial exposure, consult a licensed physician.

Orders and early access signups

These are two separate things. Placing an order is a purchase: you pay at checkout, payment is processed by Stripe, and shipping is included in the price. We do not store your card details.

Signing up for early access with your email address is not a purchase and does not reserve a kit. No payment is collected, nothing is held for you, and you are under no obligation. You are asking to be contacted about availability and to receive a discount code if you qualify.

Early access pricing

The 10% early access discount is available to the first 100 people who sign up with their email address. Eligibility is determined by the order in which signups are received. If you qualify, we will email you a discount code to enter at checkout. We will honor this discount in good faith to our earliest confirmed signups.

Shipping

We ship within the United States only. Shipping is free and already included in the price, so what you pay at checkout is the kit price plus any tax that applies where you live.

We are in early access, and kits ship in the order they are received. Once your order is placed we will email you a confirmed ship date.

Returns and refunds

You can return a kit for a full refund within 30 days of delivery, as long as it is unopened and unused. To start a return, email hello@mold-buster.com with your order number and we will tell you where to send it.

• Unopened kits: you get back everything you paid, including tax. You cover the return postage.
• Damaged, defective, or wrong items: we cover it. Email us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we will replace the kit or refund you in full, whichever you would rather have. There is nothing to send back.
• Opened kits: we cannot take these back. The plates are sterile and single use, so once a pouch is open the kit cannot go to anyone else. If something went wrong with a kit you already opened, email us anyway and we will look at it.
• Orders that have not shipped yet: email us and we will cancel and refund in full. Nothing needs to be returned.
• Kits that never arrive: if yours has not turned up within 14 days of the ship date we gave you, we will resend it or refund you in full. You do not need to chase the carrier yourself.
• Plates that grow little or nothing: that is a real result, not a broken kit. It usually means the air in that room was clean, which is the answer you were hoping for. On its own it is not grounds for a refund. If you think something actually went wrong, tell us what happened and we will look at it.

The six app analyses are part of the kit, so a kit that comes back unopened takes them with it. Refunds go to the card you paid with. Stripe usually sends them within 5 to 10 business days, and how soon the money shows up after that is up to your bank.

Limitation of liability

Mold Buster and its founders are not liable for any decisions made based on kit results, including decisions related to property, health, or remediation. Our kits provide one input among many that should inform your decisions. Use them accordingly.

Intellectual property

All content on mold-buster.com — including text, images, the Mold Buster name, and the app — belongs to Mold Buster. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without our written permission.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and company evolve. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
